I have yet to be a part of a wedding that didn't amaze me in how unique the celebration felt and fit the couple it was planned around. Whether it be a huge wedding on a private estate or 10 guests at a local public park, it always feels perfect. Family and friends, personal preferences and interests and the undefinable and infinite nature of love all harmonize and almost take on a life of its own, creating the story of one amazing day for 2 people.
I was so happy to be asked to shoot Tiffany and Travis' wedding. I have worked with Tiffany before and knew doing so was a lot of fun. When I met Travis, I could tell right off that the same would be true with him. They were married in June at Stafford Lake, just outside Novato, CA. It was a beautiful breezy day that complimented perfectly the lakeside ceremony and scenic views of the Marin foothills, and easily accommodated the 150 plus attendees. Tiffany and Travis are very much into motorcycles, and I loved how the roar of their custom Harley's firing up in the distance announced their arrival and drew a huge cheer from all the guests. Each of them drove in from different sides of the park, meeting in the middle and then walking each other down the isle. When the ceremony was over, they both rode off on Travis' bike. I love the symbolism of arriving separate and leaving together. It was a very classy and unique way to officially start their lives together.
The reception followed at the same location, with an amazing BBQ style meal cooked by several family and friends. In fact, the entire impressive celebration from the flowers to the food to the personal decorations was all organized and put together by the bride and groom and their family and friends, and done very well. The impression I get from Tiffany and Travis is that their family are their friends, and their friends are their family. This was a family event...friends and all :-).
Congratulations Tiffany and Travis, and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! For more information on Stafford Lake Park in Novato, please visit their website at http://www.marincounty.org/Depts/PK/Divisions/Parks/Stafford-Lake.
